Durham can lay claim to some of North Carolina's most notable chefs and restaurants. Menu options range from good ol' North Carolina barbecue to grilled steaks to fresh seafood to exceptional ethnic fare, such as Caribbean, Ethiopian, and Middle or Far Eastern. Featured in Southern Living, Bullock's Bar-B-Que was noted as a place where " lines form early for chopped or sliced pork…great hushpuppies too." Chamas Churrascaria offers the culture and food of southern Brazil. Rodizio is a popular Brazilian style barbecue, offering a wide variety of different cuts of beef, pork, lamb and chicken that is slowly cooked with special grills to preserve all their natural juices and flavors. These tender morsels are brought on skewers and carved at the table. The Grasshopper is a hip, casual Asian kitchen with signature cocktails. The Wall Street Journal says that chef Charlie Deal “is on a mission to present Asian cuisine in an elegant environment.” The Magnolia Grill was called one of "America's Best 50 Restaurants," and its chef-owners Ben and Karen Barker are well-known for flavor and flair. If chili-rubbed sliced brisket, hand-pulled pork, smoked turkey, and ribs don’t tempt your taste buds, then the desserts will definitely get your mouth watering at the Original Q-Shack.
